Novi Advent - Experience the magic of the holidays in Novi Vinodolski
Novi Vinodolski invites you this winter to
experience the magic of the holiday spirit with the enchanting "Novi
Advent" program. This special time of year will transform the city into a
place filled with joy, light, and warmth, where every corner of Novi Vinodolski
will echo with laughter, songs, and shared moments. A variety of events await
visitors of all ages, from creative workshops and fun quizzes to magical
Christmas concerts and a winter wonderland for skating enthusiasts.
The opening of Novi Advent on December 1
promises a magical start to the Advent season! For the first time this year,
the city will shine with thousands of lights and festive decorations, while the
hearts of parents will be warmed by the performances of their little ones at Vinodol
Code Square. The program will continue with a performance by the group Aurora. We
are certain that the little ones are eagerly awaiting the opening of Santa’s
House. This year, it will feature a magical Santa’s kitchen where young ones
can discover the joy of creating their own Christmas magic in the cozy Advent
setting. The town library will also become a gathering place for young story
lovers who can enjoy heartwarming Christmas tales like "The Christmas Light,”
"The Frozen Fairy Tale,” and "The Christmas of Spider Mreško.” In December,
children can also look forward to numerous plays, workshops, and a special
sports-music-Christmas competition guaranteed to bring smiles to their faces.
Nearly every day in December, adults will have
the chance to participate in a variety of workshops. Starting December 5, there
will be a glass ornament-making workshop where participants can craft elegant
decorations, while December 9 will feature two workshops: an Advent
mobile-making session and a Christmas felt ornament workshop. On December 10,
visitors can paint cups with Chia Cups to create unique gifts, and art and wine
enthusiasts can enjoy a unique wine-painting workshop on December 23. A highlight
of the program will be the Kintsugi workshop on December 18, inspired by the
Japanese technique of repairing ceramics with gold powder, offering a symbolic
blend of old and new values during the holidays.
Four trivia quizzes will ignite competitive
spirits among visitors. Alongside the traditional Christmas and New Year’s
quizzes, a special quiz with renowned quizmaster Dean Kotiga will be held on
December 8. On December 10, children and their parents can join a fun Christmas
quiz battle, "Guess Christmas!” at the Fijolica Kindergarten.
The Advent spirit will also reach the Fijolica
Kindergarten and Ivan Mažuranić Elementary School. On December 12, the
kindergarten will host a Christmas Magic event, while the school will organize
a program on December 18 featuring a quiz for children and parents, a show, and
a Christmas fair in the schoolyard.
Starting December 12, the Advent at Mažuranić
area will open, offering a festive world of great music, dance rhythms,
delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere. The opening night will feature
performances by Gelato Sisters and Group Trend, creating an unforgettable
ambiance. Advent weekends will be filled with performances by local artists
such as Trio Marinera, Mirakul, B Band, Trio Mareta, Klapa Kala, and bands like
Voxford, Band Eter, Top of the Pop, and various DJs. On December 26, the
renowned musician Marko Tolja will perform, adding his signature pop-soul style
and heartfelt connection with the audience to the festive atmosphere.
A new feature this year is sure to delight
both young and old: the Winter Magic Frankopan Ice Rink located in the
courtyard of the Cultural Center. Opening on December 15 with performances by
Groovers and DJ Tommy, the rink will remain open throughout Advent until
January 6. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced skater, it offers the
perfect outdoor fun for just €2, including skate rental. The Advent program
will also welcome mascots and, of course, Santa Claus himself.
The festive mood will extend to Ledenice,
where a holiday program on December 20 will bring joy to this historic area. A
special festive atmosphere will also be brought by the traditional Winter Klapa
Festival on December 14 and a Christmas concert by Joso Butorac on December 26
at St. Philip and James Church.
To top it all off, Novi Vinodolski is
preparing a unique New Year’s Eve celebration. As per tradition, the New Year
will be welcomed at noon with a toast to the new year. Musical performances by
Insula, Point, and Replay Band will set the stage, complemented by the enticing
aromas of hunter’s stew, homemade sausages, mulled wine, and special offers at
Advent houses. This year, promotional New Year’s Eve packages starting at just
€10 will delight visitors. Meanwhile, children will enjoy animation programs,
face painting, inflatable play areas, donuts, and juices.
The New Year’s toast will close the Advent
program, leaving us eagerly anticipating the joys and challenges of the coming
year.
Novi Advent in Novi Vinodolski brings a
festive atmosphere filled with joy, togetherness, and unforgettable moments for
all generations. With a rich program, lavish decorations, and a warm ambiance,
every corner of the city will become a magical place to create cherished
memories. Join us and feel the holiday spirit in a truly unique way!
