FIT4NOVI Kicks Off with a Vineyard Walk in Novi Vinodolski
A Great Start to Another Edition of the Sports & Recreation Event
The Tourist Board of the City of Novi Vinodolski is once again offering citizens and visitors an attractive FIT4NOVI program. Last year, the event was enriched by the introduction of Nordic walking along the historic trails of Novi Vinodolski — a fantastic addition that continues this year. Organized by the Novi Vinodolski Tourist Board in cooperation with KŠR Gorovo and the Nordic Walking Team Opatija, the program offers walks along blue and green trails that are suitable for all age groups.
The walking program kicked off with the Wine Valley Trail, which not only offered a scenic walking route, but also a specially arranged tasting at the Pavlomir Winery, a renowned name on the Novi Vinodolski Riviera. After gathering and warm-up exercises, a cheerful group of walkers — from various generations and accompanied by many pets — headed out on a route that included: Pavlomir – Old Town Novi Vinodolski (Church of St. Philip and James) – Frankopan Castle with Kvadrac Tower – Novi Vinodolski Port – Pavlomir. The 8 km trail was completed in just over two hours, led by licensed Nordic walking and hiking guides. At the end, participants enjoyed wine and local delicacies, along with a guided tour of the winery’s cellar by Maja Palinkaš.
Walkers celebrated Holy Saturday by combining outdoor activity with the scenic beauty of Novi Vinodolski. The next Nordic walking event is scheduled for April 26, with the highlight being the picturesque “Heavenly Labyrinths” trail.
