A playful coastline full of hidden coves and crystal-clear sea

The Novi Vinodolski Riviera stretches over approximately 25 km of playful coastline filled with hidden coves, rocky, pebbly, and sandy beaches. The benefits of crystal-clear sea invite you to swim and dive. Alongside Novi Vinodolski as the center of the Riviera, the coastal villages of Povile, Klenovica, Smokvica, and Sibinj are ideal for exploring secluded coves.

Main city beach

Below Hotel Lišanj, right next to the center of Novi Vinodolski, lies the town’s main beach – Lišanj Beach.

The bathing area in the Lišanj bay opened as far back as 1886. Interestingly, at that time men and women bathed separately. A red flag signaled the time allowed for men, and a white one for women. Today, of course, swimming is allowed for everyone – men, women, the elderly, youth, and children alike.

Today, this is a modern beach offering something for everyone. The sunbathing area is concrete with some sandy and pebbled sections. A special feature of the beach is the sand in the sea and a two-level concrete diving platform placed in the water. The beach also offers plenty of fun activities, from pedal boats, parasailing, water sports, to beach volleyball courts, tennis courts, and a diving center nearby. Those looking for a more relaxed experience can rent sun loungers and umbrellas or enjoy refreshments at several beachfront bars and restaurants.

The beauty of this beach has been recognized by EarthCam, the world’s most renowned web camera portal, which listed the beach and its stunning live view among the TOP 10 live stream cameras in the world.

Beaches along Dr. Franjo Tuđman Promenade (Rivica and Pod Lopar)

Along the southern part of Dr. Franjo Tuđman Promenade, between Hotel Lišanj and Lopar, stretch some of the most beautiful beaches in Novi Vinodolski. These beaches are mostly pebbly, with some rocky areas. They offer one of the most stunning views – a view of the islet of San Marino, the symbol of Novi Vinodolski. This islet with a small church, “anchored” just 205 meters from the shore, invites many swimmers who reach it by swimming, pedal boats, small boats or even SUPs rented directly on the beach.

Many visitors also enjoy the beach’s unique feature – the educational trail “Fishermen’s Stories.” Walk along the trail to learn more about the flora and fauna of the Novi Vinodolski waters, as well as the rich fishing history of the area.

The beach offers a variety of amenities, including food and beverage options, sunbed and umbrella rentals, free Wi-Fi, and numerous sports opportunities – including a tennis court nestled in the natural shade of the wooded promenade.

The beach is equally attractive to children and adults. While children enjoy the water park, adults can relax in the natural shade of the trees planted right next to the promenade.

Bribir coast - Urban Promenade Beach

Thanks to its evergreen vegetation, mild Mediterranean climate, clean sea and air, and rich cultural heritage, Novi Vinodolski became one of the first tourist destinations of the coastal region in 1878.

The beginning of tourism in Novi Vinodolski is considered to be the construction of the first wooden bathing area on what is now known as Bribirska Riva.

Today, the beach along Bribirska Obala stretches for 1300 meters and is known for its mix of rocky areas, pebbled coves, and individual sunbathing spots between the rocks.

It is equipped with urban and modern amenities and is especially attractive to those seeking recreation. The beach is accessible for people with disabilities and offers car access.

Novi SPA Hotels & Resort Beach

If you continue along the promenade on Obala Petra Krešimira IV below the Wyndham Grand hotel complex, you’ll come across a beautiful pebbly beach. You can rent sun loungers and umbrellas, and the beach is equally attractive to both children and adults. Refreshments are available at nearby cafes and bars, and if you’re looking for peace on your own private beach, simply continue walking. The path will lead you to a series of small hidden coves that will instantly recharge your energy.

The beach is suitable for all age groups.

Pod Spomenik Beach

Located just below the beautiful pebbled promenade of Dr. Franjo Tuđman, near the monument itself, lies a beach known to locals as Pod Spomenik.

Pod Spomenik Beach is a naturally rocky and somewhat wild beach with slightly more difficult access. Because of this, it is especially attractive to adventurers who enjoy rugged coastal scenery.

Although the beach does not offer additional facilities, its isolated nature makes it ideal for visitors seeking peace and privacy, away from crowds and noise.

Grabrova Beach

Located in a hidden cove in the small settlement of Grabrova, this natural pebble beach offers a peaceful escape. Access to the beach is possible via Dr. Josip Sokolić Promenade or the Adriatic Highway.

Pedal boats, sun loungers, and umbrellas are available for rent on the beach, and refreshments can be found at a charming little café located nearby.

Povile Beach

Just two kilometers south of Novi Vinodolski lies the small tourist village of Povile. Beaches stretch along the settlement, and all you need to do is choose the type that suits you best. You can pick between pebbled, concrete, or hidden rocky beaches. Thanks to freshwater springs in some spots, swimming here offers a refreshing experience during hot summer days. With its calm and peaceful surroundings, Povile is the perfect getaway for those looking to avoid crowds and enjoy a relaxing holiday. Several cafés and bars can be found along the beaches.

Dog Beach

The dog beach is located in MALA DRAGA COVE, about 1 km from Povile in the direction of Klenovica. The access gravel road is situated below the highway and leads directly to the beach.

In addition to welcoming all dogs, the beach offers a range of services for visitors. Pedal boats and kayaks are available for rent, and there is a fast-food and drink stand open until midnight.
There is also a small pool with drinking water specially made for dogs, along with several shaded areas where they can rest and escape the sun.

Klenovica Beach

Just nine kilometers south of Novi Vinodolski lies the small fishing village of Klenovica, a place known for its strong fishing tradition. Along the village stretch pebble, concrete, and rocky beaches.

While enjoying the beach, you’re sure to be drawn to one of the nearby restaurants, where fish goes straight from the net to your plate.

To complete the experience, you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas or enjoy various water sports. The beaches are equally attractive to children and adults.

Smokvica Beach

Heading south from Klenovica toward the village of Smokvica Krmpotska, you’ll find a beautiful pebbled promenade shaded by trees. Take a break and relax in one of the small hidden rocky coves. The sea here is crystal clear, and the green-blue contrast of colors offers true peace for the soul.

Along the way, you’ll also come across a beach suitable for children. The pebbled entrance to the sea and a nearby playground make this beach ideal for families with kids.

Kozica Camp Beach

If you’re escaping the crowds, head southeast of Novi Vinodolski and find peace in the green-blue oasis of the Kozica campsite. The campsite’s beach is rocky and pebbly, and the many untouched coves nearby create a true Robinson Crusoe atmosphere.

This natural, private beach offers guests ideal conditions for water sports, while the nearby Velebit mountains invite you to go hiking or wildlife photography.

Sibinj Camp Beach

Around 20 kilometers southeast of Novi Vinodolski lies the Sibinj campsite. The greatest asset of this campsite is its beautiful sandy-pebble beach, where guests spend most of their time. A food and drink stand is also available on the beach.
