From May 1st to 4th, Novi Vinodolski hosted the second edition of the Altroke Food Festival – an event that once again proved its popularity among locals and numerous visitors. For four days, Frankopan Square was transformed into a lively hub of socializing, delicious food, laughter, and music. Each festival day brought a unique atmosphere and a diverse program.

The festival kicked off on Thursday, May 1st at 5:00 PM with a fantastic vibe, a large crowd of visitors, and the mouthwatering aroma of irresistible culinary delights filling the square. No one could resist tasting the surprises on offer – Mexican specialties from Marmota Taqueria, creative Istrian bites by Susalicious, and tempting sweets from Pop’s Sweet Shop. The evening peaked with a performance by the popular L’amour Trio, who got the crowd dancing and set a strong tone for the days ahead.

On Friday, May 2nd, the atmosphere heated up even more thanks to Bloger Krule, whose sharp humor and distinctive style had the audience roaring with laughter and kept the energy on the square high. Alongside the festival action, the city center was brightened by the colorful and fragrant Flower Fair, which opened in the morning and remained available the following day – a lovely treat for gardening and nature lovers.

Saturday, May 3rd, continued in the same vibrant spirit – with a wide selection of food starting from 5:00 PM and the musical highlight of the evening delivered by the energetic Žažar Band. Their performance lifted the crowd to their feet, filling the evening with fun, dance rhythms, and the enticing scents of many dishes. Fans of folk traditions also enjoyed the cultural program “Sea and Plains,” showcasing beautiful traditional costumes and dances on the Croatian Defenders’ Promenade.

The final day of the festival, Sunday, May 4th, was dedicated to families and children. Named Kids Day, the program included a performance by magician Andrej Škedel, creative workshops, face painting, and an inflatable playground. Joining the well-loved food vendors were Tonkine Frite with their special Fritule Ala Pinca.

Once again, Altroke Food Festival successfully combined gastronomy and entertainment, solidifying its reputation as a must-visit springtime event in Novi Vinodolski. And with warmer days ahead, the fun in town continues! On Saturday, May 10th, the FIT4NOVI program resumes with Nordic walking along the Degenia Trail, while May 24th features the popular Medicinal Herb Walk. Creative spirits will enjoy workshops on May 11th (Creating Your Own Eco System) and May 14th (Natural Cosmetics Workshop). The true sports spirit will come alive at the end of the month with a series of tournaments from May 29th to June 1st, and the Novi Trail race on May 31st – featuring a live concert by Giuliano & Diktatori.
