Exhibition Program of the Turnac City Gallery
From July 15th to 25th, an exhibition by Maša Barišić will be on display at the Turnac City Gallery.
In Betwixt and Between, Maša Barišić opens a space of identity transition – a liminal state between “no longer” and “not yet.” At the center of her work is the figure of Colinda Evangelista, an alter ego who becomes a symbol of the complex and often contradictory layers of the self.
Using a powerful visual language, expressive imagery, and fetishized representations, the artist explores identity as a fluid, unstable terrain – both a construct and a quest. The liminal figure of Evangelista moves between Jung’s archetypes of Persona and Shadow, uncovering layers of psychological play, social expectations, and unconscious drives.
In a world that demands authenticity yet rewards performance, identity increasingly resembles a stage act. Barišić observes this process without judgment: fiction does not conceal the truth, but reveals what we’re afraid to say.
The exhibition offers no answers – only questions. What is the “self” when its parts don’t recognize each other? Can freedom arise from uncertainty? And where does the mask end and discovery begin?
The exhibition is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.
The exhibition is for sale, and entry is free of charge.
