A True Walking Challenge on the “From the Spring to the Frankopans” Trail

This Saturday, the rich program of the FIT4NOVI event continues, and a real challenge awaits walking enthusiasts. The Tourist Board of the City of Novi Vinodolski, in cooperation with KŠR Gorovo and the Nordic Walking Team Opatija, is organizing “Nordic Walking Along the Historic Trails of Novi Vinodolski” every Saturday, offering great “blue and green trails.” This Saturday, however, a true test is in store for nature lovers.

After three scenic routes that allowed walkers to enjoy the beauty of Novi and its surroundings, Saturday, May 25, brings a new dimension to the program with the challenging route “From the Spring to the Frankopans.” Walkers will gather at 10:00 a.m. at the center of Povile (bus stop), and after the mandatory warm-up exercises, they will set off on a moderately demanding 10.5 km route, expected to last approximately four and a half hours. The route will take participants through Povile – Gradina Viewpoint – Old Town Ledenice – Žrnovnica – Povile. Organizers note that the first part of the route involves about one hour of uphill walking, making it a true challenge. The group will be led by a certified Nordic walking instructor and a mountain guide, as part of the trail follows a mountain path.

As is customary, organizers will once again provide walking poles for participants. Registration is possible on-site, and all participants take part at their own risk. Organizers recommend wearing sturdy, appropriate footwear, sun protection, and bringing enough water (recommended amount: 2 liters).

FIT4NOVI brings a true walking spectacle this Saturday – not only will participants enjoy a fantastic hiking experience, but they will also discover the natural beauty and unique character of the region. This tour concludes one of the FIT4NOVI spring activities, and due to high interest, organizers plan to continue walking tours in the autumn, exploring new routes and landscapes.
