The Novi Vinodolski Tourist Board has allocated over €22,000 for events in 2026
14. April 2026.
The Novi Vinodolski Tourist Board, within the framework of its 2026 budget, has successfully implemented a public call for the allocation of funds through sponsorships, co-financing of events, and other activities of general importance for the town of Novi Vinodolski. Associations, as well as individuals and legal entities, were eligible to apply, with a total of 21 associations and clubs expressing interest this year.
The submitted programs include a wide range of events aimed at enriching the town’s cultural and sports offer, as well as strengthening its identity, both during the peak tourist season and beyond. As in previous years, special emphasis has been placed on organizing activities in the pre-season and post-season periods, with the goal of extending the tourist season.
Following the evaluation process, funds totaling €22,250 have been approved. The allocated financial support will enable the realization of numerous events covering a broad spectrum of interests within the local community.
Among the supported events are various sports activities such as regattas, football and bocce tournaments, as well as an autumn cycling event held for the second consecutive year. Programs by the Rival Triathlon Club, “Novi Runs” and “Novi Swims,” have also received support. Motor enthusiasts will enjoy the traditional Open Bike event, while Novi Vinodolski will also host the national Vespa gathering, CroVespa 2026, this year.
Funding has also been directed toward preserving traditions and local customs, including carnival events and well-known celebrations such as St. Martin’s Day, wine exhibitions, Christmas Eve fish distribution, and the New Year’s toast. The cultural program will be further enriched by performances of folklore groups and klapa ensembles, promoting and preserving local heritage.
Support has also been extended to numerous associations and clubs in the surrounding areas for organizing patron saint celebrations and local festivities. The importance of humanitarian work has also been recognized, with part of the funds allocated to exhibitions by the “Kameleoni” creative workshop, organized by the Red Cross.
The strong response from associations and clubs clearly demonstrates the vitality and engagement of the local community in creating high-quality content. The approved funds will undoubtedly contribute to the successful implementation of the planned programs.
