Camino Crikvenica Vinodol – from Krmpote to Bribir through nature and history

11. Apr
08:00 - 17:00
Krmpote - Bribir

We invite you to join the continuation of our shared pilgrimage along the Camino Crikvenica Vinodol route, taking place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, on the section from Jakov Polje (Krmpote) to Bribir, with a total length of 21.5 km.

Join us for another day filled with walking, togetherness, nature, and a spiritual experience.

Our journey begins in the morning with a gathering at the Church of St. James in Krmpote, one of two churches dedicated to this saint along the Camino Crikvenica Vinodol route—the other being located at the very end of the trail in Jadranovo. This connection adds a special symbolic meaning to the pilgrimage.

We will start the day with Holy Mass, seeking a blessing for a safe and fulfilling journey. This will be followed by a short gathering and refreshments at the Tilia tasting room, where participants will receive symbolic gifts—a bottle of water, a Crikvenica Vinodol leaflet, and a souvenir.

After the blessing of the Camino marker, we will set off on our pilgrimage towards Bribir. The route leads through the picturesque Vinodol Valley, with the first longer stop at the Ledenice fortress. There, you will learn about the rich history of the area and hear an intriguing legend about Kugina kuća, guided by historian Antonija Mažuranić.

We will continue towards Bribir, arriving in the afternoon. Upon arrival, we will visit the Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul, followed by a well-deserved break with lunch and a tasting of local specialties in the old town center. In the pleasant ambiance of Bribir, you will have the opportunity to taste traditional dishes such as Bribir prisnac, a traditional Easter delicacy, and Crikvenica batuda—an authentic hearty stew—accompanied by a drink and socializing with fellow pilgrims.

For those interested, an optional visit to the “Paths of the Frankopans” interpretation center in the Turan Tower is also organized, further enriching the experience of this historic region. In the late afternoon, organized bus transport back to Krmpote will be provided.
