The organizers from the Rival Triathlon Club, with the support of the City of Novi Vinodolski, invite all recreational runners, athletes and running enthusiasts to join the one-day sporting event “Novi Runs 2026”, which will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026. This sporting event promotes a healthy lifestyle, physical activity and togetherness among all generations.

The program begins at 8:30 AM on the Dr. Franjo Tuđman Promenade (near Hula Bar), where participants can collect their race numbers and complete registration. Children’s races of 400 and 800 meters start at 9:30 AM, while the main 5-kilometre race for competitors aged 15 to 89 begins at 10:00 AM. The awards ceremony for the most successful participants will take place at 11:00 AM, followed by a social gathering with a shared meal.

The course is run in two laps along the seaside promenade, mostly on gravel with a few paved sections. It is almost completely flat, making it ideal for recreational runners as well as more experienced athletes. Children’s races are organized on shorter routes marked with cones.

Participants will compete in several age categories, while primary school pupils will run races of 400 meters (grades 1–4) and 800 meters (grades 5–8). The 5-kilometre race is divided into eight age categories for men and women:

• 2007–2011 (15–19)
• 2006–1997 (20–29)
• 1996–1987 (30–39)
• 1986–1977 (40–49)
• 1976–1967 (50–59)
• 1966–1957 (60–69)
• 1956–1947 (70–79)
• 1946–1937 (80–89)

Prizes are provided for the overall winners of each race (400 m, 800 m and 5 km), as well as for the top three finishers in every age category.

and on the day of the race from 8:30 AM. The entry fee for the 5 km race is €10.00, while children’s races are free of charge. All participants who register by March 13 will receive the official race T-shirt.

The goal of the event “Novi Runs 2026” is to encourage citizens of all ages to engage in sports, promote a healthy lifestyle and further strengthen community spirit and sports culture within the local community.
