The Camino Crikvenica – Vinodol route, part of the official Croatian Camino network within the large European network of St. James pilgrimage routes, represents a new, sustainable, year-round opportunity to attract more visitors. Although Camino routes in Croatia are still relatively new, they already draw pilgrims and travellers from across Europe as well as from the USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa — guests who come specifically to walk the Croatian routes. Camino visitors seek an authentic “Camino experience” and most often travel outside the main season, when the weather is ideal for walking and when destinations can benefit from additional income.
