After a rich Advent program that brought joy to locals and guests throughout December, Novi Vinodolski once again said farewell to the old year and welcomed the new one with cheer—at noon, during the traditional Zdravica Nova celebration. Not even the rain could stop the many visitors from raising a glass to the New Year at this beloved event.

The town squares of Novi became epicenters of celebration. There was no shortage of dancing, fun, and festive spirit. Trio Unique created a fantastic atmosphere at Vinodol Law Square, while bands Eureka and Venus kept the crowd dancing at Ivan Mažuranić Square with lively rhythms filling the city center.

Local hospitality was at its best at the four Advent huts, offering delicious dishes, sweets, and drinks. The hunting associations Gradina and Košutnjak served hearty goulash and sausages, while the Ružica Vinodola association offered mulled wine. Once again, visitors could purchase a New Year’s package for €10, which included a souvenir mug with a coupon for unlimited mulled wine and a meal of hunting specialties.

The youngest visitors enjoyed a fun animation program moved indoors to the Cultural Center due to rain. For a short time, the center transformed into a real North Pole—children played in an igloo, enjoyed face painting and games, and were entertained by Eskimos and snowmen. The 51+ Association ensured a sweet ending by handing out doughnuts.

The highlight of Zdravica followed: the official countdown and toast. The afternoon celebration at Ivan Mažuranić Square featured special effects and heartfelt New Year wishes from the Director of the Tourist Board, Tena Peričić, and the Mayor of Novi Vinodolski, Tomislav Cvitković.

Joining the celebration were the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Gordan Jandroković, and Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Butković.

Around 4,000 people passed through Novi Vinodolski, once again confirming that Zdravica Nova is one of the town’s most popular events.

Zdravica once again proved to be the perfect way to step into the new year, wrap up the past season, and look forward to unforgettable moments and adventures to come. Welcome, 2024!
