Novljanski Delights – A Culinary Journey of Flavors
On Sunday, September 10th, the aromas of gourmet delicacies spread throughout Novi Vinodolski. Once again, the credit for this culinary journey goes to our most famous gastronomic event, Novljanski gušti.
Numerous visitors at Trg Ivana Mažuranića enjoyed delicious dishes, sparkling wines, and regular wines, all sold at affordable prices. For 3.00 to 4.00 euros, one could savor gourmet delicacies and desserts, for 2.00 euros a deciliter of fine wine, and for 4.00 euros sparkling wine.
There was an abundance of delicacies. Shrimp buzara with polenta, tuna pašticada, monkfish salad, squid brudet, šurlice pasta with truffle sauce, Wrap’s with chicken or pork were just some of the tempting dishes. Sweet lovers were also delighted. The enticing aroma of cinnamon from Mošunske frita filled the square, while cheese or nougat pancakes and XXL Princeze perfectly complemented the atmosphere. No one was left thirsty. In addition to the region’s fine wines offered by the restaurateurs, Pavlomir Winery presented its award-winning sparkling wines.
The coastal ambiance was enhanced by the band Trio Insula, who provided the musical background, while the host introduced numerous tourists to the chefs responsible for these flavorful delicacies.
The event was organized by the Novi Vinodolski Tourist Board with the support of the City of Novi Vinodolski and KTD Ivanj, in cooperation with local restaurateurs. Restaurants and establishments such as Admiral, konobas Croatika, Navigare, Pod orajom, bistros Adria, Tomas, bistro pizzeria Đir, Hotel Lišanj, Ekskluziva d.o.o., the Friends of Grapes and Wine Association “Ružica Vinodola,” and the Pavlomir Wine House ensured that many tourists and visitors were well fed and hydrated, while the hardworking and always cheerful members of the Association 51+ were in charge of selling consumption vouchers.
Sunday morning passed in a pleasant atmosphere and joyful mood, marking the end of the summer events cycle in Novi Vinodolski, while the entertainment continued into the evening with a well-attended concert by the group Dalmatino. The summer season was deservedly bid farewell, and visitors to Novi Vinodolski can look forward to many events in the upcoming colder months.
“This event is a kind of gift to our people for all the effort they put into making this tourist season successful. Therefore, I want to thank everyone who once again presented Novi in the best light, and for yesterday’s event, a big thank you to the dear restaurateurs who responded in large numbers and prepared top-notch delicacies for all visitors! I think we have truly closed the summer events in a wonderful way and now we are ready to start organizing the rest of the year, which will also be full of quality content!” said Tena Peričić, Director of the Novi Vinodolski Tourist Board.
