Sunday, 20 September, will be dedicated to the flavours of Novi Vinodolski. Starting at 10:00, Ivan Mažuranić Square will host Gastronomic Delights of Novi Vinodolski, a food event that brings together local restaurateurs, their specialties, and lovers of good food and wine. Visitors can look forward to a diverse selection of dishes, ranging from traditional local flavours to somewhat more modern culinary creations, all at affordable prices.

Once again this year, the participating restaurateurs have decided to delight their visitors by keeping the prices unchanged. Gastronomic specialties will be available for €5.00, sweet dishes for €3.00, while 1 dcl of wine will cost €2.00.

As many as 13 restaurateurs will take part in this year’s Gastronomic Delights of Novi, preparing a wide range of delicacies especially for the occasion. Their specialties will be presented by Konobas Navigare, Pod Orajom and Hata, Admiral Restaurant, Bistro Tomas, Đir Bistro-Pizzeria, Aminess Hotel Lišanj, Oris Catering, Ekskluziva d.o.o. and Vinska kuća Pavlomir. Joining the event for the first time this year are Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Kvarner Bay, which will also announce the opening of its Affamata restaurant, private chef Damnjan Draganić, and Kolačić.

The selection will be wonderfully diverse, with something to suit every taste. To start, visitors can enjoy Klenovarski-style seafood salad, octopus salad and tuna pâté, followed by buzara-style prawns and mussels, tuna pašticada, “A la Tomas” stuffed squid with Swiss chard, black risotto and Novljanska fritura. Meat lovers can savour beef cheeks served with parsley-root purée, veal ragù with homemade pljukanci, chicken roulade stuffed with plums and apricots, as well as a special “Ružica Vinodola” piadina with a lard and beef skewer in grape BBQ sauce and a crisp salad. A selection of special vegan dishes will also be available.

To finish, the sweet selection – richer than ever – is sure to delight every gourmet. It includes ricotta with figs, tiramisu, panna cotta, fruit choux pastries and choux pastries with Nutella, Ledeni vjetar, pancakes, and a variety of homemade pies and strudels, including a special fig strudel. Those looking to discover new flavours will also be delighted by “Škripava smokva” – an ice cream made with škripavac cheese and figs, served with fig-leaf crumble and fig sauce.

This is just part of the more than 30 delicacies that can be tasted at this year’s Gastronomic Delights of Novi, while a selection of quality wines will round off the culinary experience.

Alongside the gastronomic programme, visitors can enjoy great entertainment with Klapa Intriga. Throughout the event, the host will introduce all the participants and their culinary creations, bringing visitors closer to the stories and flavours behind the dishes on offer.
