Casabianca is a theatrical play written and performed by Irena Grdinić and Mario Lipovšek Battifiaca, a well-known hosting duo from television and various stages. It is a comedy in the Čakavian dialect that humorously portrays the life of a typical coastal married couple from the 1960s to the present day.

Irena and Mario, also known as Đurđa and Franko, met at a popular dance party. She was young and ambitious, he inexperienced and easily persuaded. Together they watched the movie Casablanca and started a romance. It was wonderful while it lasted, then came marriage and children. Communism, then capitalism. One party, then many. Trends changed, but Đurđa and Franko endured, though not without problems. As Franko says: “Life can be summed up in three words. Always some k…..”.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Novi Vinodolski Tourist Board and the Novi Vinodolski Retirees’ Association for 40.00 HRK. On the day of the performance, tickets cost 50.00 HRK.
