The Cultural Centre of the City of Novi Vinodolski proudly invites you to the premiere of its first professional theatre production.

The play, titled “Island Tercet” (based on “Intersections” by Beatrice Kurbel, adapted by Ana Vilenica), stars three renowned actresses: Branka Petrić Fehmiu, Olivera Baljak and Ana Vilenica.
Directed by Ivan Vanja Alač, with music by Natko Štiglić and set design by Karla Kocijan.

“The approach to the topic is fresh — avoiding the weight and burden of fateful decisions often seen on stage. Life is presented as a journey, not as a single, linear structure, but made up of phases, defeats and victories.
From the very start, all three protagonists are portrayed as passengers rather than captains of their lives: two sisters in a constant vacation from life – the aging actress Ava (Branka Petrić Fehmiu) and her slightly younger sister Bela (Olivera Baljak), caught in denial of her own longing for change – and Doris (Ana Vilenica), a Zagreb-based translator drowning daily in books that mirror her own uneventful life.
Doris’s evolution from an intruder to a dear guest, a human version of a house pet tasked with breaking the monotony of island life, becomes the most engaging – and perhaps central – element of the dramatic narrative in Island Tercet.”
