Last year, Novi Advent won the title of the best small Advent in Croatia through a competition held by the portal gradonačelnik.hr, and the third edition of this magical small Advent opens this Sunday at Vinodol Code Square.

Sunday afternoon will become a magical stage illuminated by thousands of sparkling lights, while children from the Fijolica Kindergarten, the English musical Čudotvornica, Ivan Mažuranić Primary School, and the children’s church choir St. Little Thérèse from the parish of St. Philip and James will warm our hearts with their special performances. The blessing of the Advent candle and the children’s program begin at 5:00 PM, and the celebration will continue with the band Aurora and a rich gastronomic offer at the Advent booth. The scent of cinnamon, vanilla, and warm spices will float through the air like an invisible symphony, inviting you to surrender to the magic of the holiday season. Music will fill the streets, lights will shine brightly, and this year, Santa’s House will also be open for children.

Just before the feast of St. Nicholas, Santa’s House will open its doors – specifically his kitchen. There will be storytelling sessions, children can write letters to Santa, and enjoy a beautifully decorated Christmas kitchen.

Throughout the upcoming week, many activities will take place. On Wednesday, the public library will host a storytelling session titled Christmas Light, and the day before St. Nicholas, the play Adventures of St. Nicholas will be performed at the Cultural Centre for all children. That same afternoon, the children’s Christmas sports and music competition Catch Christmas will be held at Vinodol Code Square.

Also, for the older ones, a glass Christmas decoration workshop will be held at the Tourist Board of Novi Vinodolski. The workshop is already full and no further registrations are being accepted.

The week will end with a quiz treat as Croatia’s well-known quiz master, enigmatist, and current “chaser” on the shows Potjera and Superpotjera – Dean Kotiga – comes to town. The quiz will be held at the Cultural Centre, the fee is 10 euros per team and is paid on site, while registrations are still open via email: centarzakulturu@novi-vinodolski.hr.
