As every year, the Public Museum and Gallery of Novi Vinodolski is participating in the Museum Night event. This year’s theme highlights the importance of museums and other heritage institutions that collect, research, preserve, and exhibit cultural heritage, making it accessible to the general public. In an era of advanced technology and digital innovation, the visibility of museums becomes key, as these technologies expand the boundaries of traditional museums. It is also important to emphasize what happens “behind the scenes”—activities invisible to visitors but crucial for the final museum presentation, such as storage rooms, restoration and conservation departments, preparation workshops, museum laboratories, and other vital components of every museum.

NEW FACE OF AN OLD COIN – children’s workshop
A restoration workshop led by conservator-restorer Vlatka Janjić, where children will learn how to bring old, dusty, and worn coins back to life—just as museum collections often require before being exhibited.

LITTLE CARNIVAL QUIZ – quiz for children and parents
The Novi Vinodolski Carnival is protected as intangible cultural heritage of the Republic of Croatia. This fun quiz will test your knowledge of the names and order of customs associated with it.

MUSEOLOGICAL CONCEPT FOR THE PERMANENT EXHIBITION OF THE NEW MUSEUM – lecture by Muze Agency
Since 2017, the museum has been working on a new permanent exhibition. In 2024, a conceptual museological plan was created in collaboration with Muze Agency, who will present the vision of the future museum with a lecture and PowerPoint presentation.

PERMANENT EXHIBITION
Spanning 186 square meters, the permanent exhibition includes an ethnographic room, archaeological room, the Mažuranić family room, and many other valuable items relevant to the region.
