Novi Vinodolski invites you once again this winter to step into a world of holiday magic, where every street glows with a special sparkle and the December days are filled with warmth, music, and togetherness. Novi Advent 2025 once more transforms our town into a fairy-tale centre of joy, creating moments that bring generations together.

The enchanting start of the Advent season arrives on 30 November, when thousands of lights will illuminate the town and turn it into a true festive wonderland. Vinodolski Statute Square will come to life with performances by our youngest residents, and DJ Boris will lift the atmosphere even further. Children will be especially excited about the opening of their favourite corner – Santa’s House, a place filled with laughter, imagination, and the most beautiful Christmas wishes. The evening also brings the start of a new quiz adventure with the well-known host Dean Kotiga, whose quiz will take place at the Cultural Centre.

The Advent programme also brings a small festival of creativity. December begins with a fragrant Christmas wreath-making workshop, enriched with mulled gin for a complete festive feeling. A few days later, on 4 December, a workshop on painting glass water bottles will take place – perfect for those who want to turn everyday items into small works of art. Young creatives will enjoy the Oblak Christmas decorations workshop (5 December), while 9 December will be all about the scent of honey during the making and decorating of beloved gingerbread houses. The festive sparkle continues on 15 December with the creation of magical mosaic baubles, and on 17 December, participants will make green Christmas kokedamas. Toward the end of the month, on 29 December, the delicious PAŠTAda fresh-pasta workshop will be held. These are just some of the workshops awaiting you, so be sure to sign up on time. Each workshop brings its own story and a touch of creative magic.

Throughout December, the popular quiz programme continues. Along with the Quiz by Dean Kotiga, visitors can look forward to the traditional Christmas and New Year’s Kviz Pliz, as well as a special family pub quiz, “We Remember Christmas Forever”, which will bring together young and old in warm holiday competition. Children will be delighted every Wednesday by magical story hours filled with snowy tales, Archibald’s adventures, and a story revealing the special glow of Christmas Eve.

The festive spirit will also fill Fijolica Kindergarten and Ivan Mažuranić Primary School. On 11 December, the kindergarten courtyard will shine with the holiday programme “Christmas Glows with Warmth”, while the school prepares its own celebration for 22 December.

From 12 December, all eyes will turn to Frankopan Square, which will gain a completely new Advent dimension. Advent cottages, special gastronomic offerings, and a varied weekend entertainment programme will create the atmosphere of a true winter postcard. On Friday, 12 December, one of the most anticipated attractions of the Advent season will open – the Frankopan Winter Magic Ice Rink. The opening ceremony will be enriched by the Magical Ice Fairy-tale performed by KK Medo, and the rink will remain open until 11 January 2026, offering fun throughout the winter holidays. The price of skating and skate rental remains symbolic, allowing everyone to enjoy winter delights. Weekends on the square will be filled with performances by Bosutski Bećari, Trio Marinera, the Reaktiv cover band, numerous DJs, stand-up comedians from the Split scene, and a rich children’s programme.

The Advent mood will also spread to Ledenice, which will come alive with a special festive spirit on 18 December. Additional warmth will be brought by the traditional Christmas concerts of Joso Butorac, as well as concerts by the music school, the New Children’s Choir, the kindergarten, and the traditional Christmas-Eve distribution of fish.

As the sweetest ending to the December story, Novi Vinodolski once again prepares its unique New Year’s Eve at Noon – a tradition that has won the hearts of visitors. With performances by the groups Trend, Face, and Trio Family, entertainment is guaranteed, and a special New Year’s offer awaits visitors again this year. By purchasing a New Year’s mug for €10, you will be able to enjoy unlimited mulled wine and taste a culinary delicacy prepared by local hunters. We have also prepared plenty for the youngest visitors – an interactive animation programme, face painting, mascots of their favourite cartoon characters, and many other surprises.
