The first Kvarner Sparkling Breakfast in the Vineyard, part of the Salon of Sparkling Wines Zagreb project, organized in collaboration with the Tourist Board of Novi Vinodolski, the Kvarner Tourist Board, and the Kvarner Wines association, will take place on June 24th, 2023, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Pavlomir Winery in Novi Vinodolski.

The Sparkling Breakfast is a hedonistic event where, in a casual and rural setting, the sparkling destination is promoted alongside local delicacies. The event will feature winemakers from the Kvarner Wines association: at the exhibition stands, the hosts Miroslav Palinkaš from Pavlomir Winery, Franko Ružić from OPG Ružić, Dejan Rubeša from OPG Plovanić Wines, and Žarko Stilin, director of Kvarner Wines, will talk about their wines and the association’s activities. The breakfast will feature sparkling wines from local varieties, accompanied by homemade cheese from Runolist Dairy in Krasno, cured meats from Buretić Bregi, sweets from Vilma from Rab, Bakarski Baškoti, local cherries from a family farm, honey and gingerbread from OPG Komadina, and a few surprises… One of the surprises will be a guest from Slovenia, the Albiana Winery from Dolenjska, which won the white sparkling wine category at the friendly Salon of Sparkling Wines in Ljubljana with its Penina Brut. They will present their sparkling wines to the attendees, some of whom will also be from Slovenia. An educational touch will be provided by the project author Marija Vukelić, who will hold a workshop on pairing sparkling wines with Toš chocolates from Crikvenica. To complete the experience, the Zvonimir Radišić Trio (Zvonimir Radišić, Henry Radanović, Tonči Grabušić) will perform a jazz concert in the vineyard.

On this occasion, Tena Peričić, the director of the Novi Vinodolski Tourist Board, will highlight the significant 145th anniversary of organized tourism in the area. Along with the tourism anniversary, the 30th anniversary of the International Summer Carnival and the 25th anniversary of winemaking in Pavlomir are being celebrated. These anniversaries speak to the long tradition and importance of this historic town, and one of the celebratory events is the Kvarner Sparkling Breakfast in the Vineyard, for sparkling wine lovers, local products, and outdoor fun.

The Salon of Sparkling Wines Zagreb, part of the Salon of Sparkling Wines network, is the only wine festival in Croatia that contributes to educating Croatian sparkling wine enthusiasts through year-round events, promotions, and educational programs. Project creator and director Marija Vukelić conceived the Sparkling Breakfasts in the Vineyard (from Zagorje, Plešivica, Srijem, Erdut, Međimurje to Kvarner) and sparkling snacks in Central and Southern Dalmatia. This project strategically promotes the sparkling wine destination.
