The Tourist Board of the City of Novi Vinodolski is once again joining in the celebration of World Tourism Day – a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of tourism and its impact on social, cultural, political, and economic values worldwide. In this spirit, several events will take place in Novi Vinodolski on Wednesday, September 27th.

On the day itself, the National Museum and Gallery will offer free entry to visitors from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and at 12:30 PM, a workshop will be held for 8th-grade students of Ivan Mažuranić Elementary School titled “The Cultural Heritage of Our Region.” The students will learn about the role of cultural heritage in tourism and will have the opportunity to visit the museum and the City Council Hall, where the Vinodol Code was signed back in 1288.

Since ecology is also a vital aspect of tourism, an educational play “Blue Planet” will be held at 10:15 AM in the Cultural Centre for younger students and preschool children. This interactive and engaging play teaches kids about protecting the sea, rivers, lakes, nature, and the planet. The actress, dressed as a jellyfish, explains how rain, seas, and rivers are formed, and what children can do to reduce pollution and preserve marine flora and fauna.

The Pavlomir Wine House is also participating in the celebration by offering a wine tasting of three local wines, accompanied by a platter of prosciutto and cheese, at a promotional price of €10 per person.
