The Nordic walking and hiking program, part of the FIT4NOVI event that brings attractive activities to Novi Vinodolski, concluded today in the best possible way. The Tourist Board of Novi Vinodolski prepared an exciting FIT4NOVI program for both residents and visitors, featuring “Nordic Walking Along the Historic Trails of Novi Vinodolski.” This activity drew many nature lovers and healthy lifestyle enthusiasts, and every walking Saturday proved to be a hit.

Organized in cooperation with KŠR Gorovo and the Nordic Walking Team Opatija, the program once again attracted people of all generations this season, all of whom enjoyed the beautiful trails in and around Novi.

The final route of the spring season was especially attractive and drew a great number of walkers, turning Saturday into a perfect active day. More than thirty participants gathered in Klenovica and, after warm-up exercises, set off on the scenic “Herbal Trail” led by certified Nordic walking guides. The moderately challenging 9.5 km route with a total ascent of 380 meters was completed in just under four hours. The route went through Klenovica – Vinište – Žrnovnica – Klenovica. Walkers passed through the abandoned village of Vinište, enjoyed panoramic views, and marveled at the vibrant blend of green and blue, with clear weather adding to the experience.

As the name suggests, the trail was filled with the scents of healing herbs like St. John’s wort, yarrow, sage, mint, thyme, and other wild plants used in traditional medicine. It was truly a sensory experience. Upon returning, participants expressed great satisfaction with the walking day.

Even on the final day of the spring season, organizers provided walking poles and ensured that participation was free of charge. This fantastic end to the Nordic walking and hiking season in Novi, part of the FIT4NOVI event, once again confirmed that the Tourist Board, KŠR Gorovo, and the Nordic Walking Team Opatija successfully showcased the trails and natural beauty of Novi and its surroundings. Novi has proven once more to be an excellent destination for Nordic walkers. And it’s safe to say the collaboration will continue – because living a healthy life truly matters.
