Last Friday, 24 July, the longest promenade in Novi Vinodolski, Petar Krešimir IV Waterfront, once again became the centre of summer entertainment. The One-Kilometre Festival attracted large crowds of visitors, who spent the evening enjoying a programme filled with live music, gastronomy, and a diverse selection of local products and handcrafted goods.

From the eastern entrance to the promenade all the way to Havana Beach Bar, visitors were greeted by a wide variety of attractions. The promenade was bustling throughout the evening, with some sections becoming so lively that finding a free spot was a challenge. This year’s festival featured 48 exhibitors, showcasing everything from unique handmade crafts and souvenirs to stalls offering locally produced delicacies, where visitors lingered the longest.

The lively atmosphere was enhanced by performances from five musical acts – TS Funtana, Joso Butorac i Vivak, Klapa Intriga, Grupa Dijagnoza, and Smooth Band – with music accompanying visitors along the entire kilometre-long promenade.

The festival’s gastronomic stations attracted the greatest attention and were more numerous than ever before. The aromas and flavours of seafood specialities, street food, locally produced prosciutto, Novi Vinodolski’s traditional marinated anchovies, and many other delicacies tempted visitors to stop and savour the culinary delights by the sea.

The youngest guests enjoyed two dedicated children’s areas. One offered face painting, while the other featured an interactive Tinker Labs workshop filled with engaging science experiments that delighted young explorers.

At exactly 11:00 p.m., the sky above Novi Vinodolski lit up with a spectacular fireworks display launched from the sea. While for some it marked the end of the evening and a return to their accommodation, many stayed longer, enjoying the pleasant seaside atmosphere cooled by a gentle summer breeze.

Once again confirming its reputation as one of Novi Vinodolski’s most popular summer events, the One-Kilometre Festival successfully combined music, gastronomy, a rich exhibition of local products, and a unique seaside ambience, offering visitors an evening filled with great company, delicious flavours, and unforgettable summer memories.
