Participation of the Crikvenica-Vinodol Riviera at the International Tourism Fair “Fahrrad- & WanderReisen Stuttgart”

21. January 2025.

The Fahrrad- & WanderReisen Stuttgart fair is organized as part of the main, nine-day CMT (Caravan, Motor, Tourism) fair, which this year featured 1,600 exhibitors and is expected to attract over 240,000 visitors by its end. Countries, regions, and cities from around the world presented their most beautiful tourist destinations. This year’s partner country was India. Exciting lectures and stage programs complemented the exhibitors’ offerings.

From January 18 to 20, tourists and outdoor enthusiasts had the opportunity to find plenty of inspiration for their next active holiday at the Fahrrad- & WanderReisen fair in Stuttgart, one of the largest of its kind in Germany. Among other things, the fair focused on innovative accessories, e-bikes, and tour options. In the enclosed test area, around 1,000 trial rides on various types of bicycles and similar vehicles were recorded during the first two days.

Tena Peričić, Director of the Tourist Board of the City of Novi Vinodolski, and Marijana Biondić, Director of the Tourist Board of Crikvenica, commented on the event:

“This year, the Crikvenica-Vinodol Riviera presented its outdoor offer for the first time at the fair in Stuttgart, aiming to attract visitors to the destination during the pre- and post-season, when the conditions for outdoor activities are most pleasant, thereby extending the tourist season. I’m pleased that the fair had excellent attendance. Many visitors had already been to our region and had very positive impressions—they came to learn about the new network of cycling and hiking trails and promenades and to collect promotional materials. It is also important to mention that there were many visitors who had never been to Croatia, and they got acquainted with the overall tourist offer of the Crikvenica-Vinodol Riviera and the possibilities for an active holiday throughout the year. The great interest we received at the fair gives us hope for a strong pre- and post-season this year as well. Since we’ve been developing the outdoor segment for a while, this was the perfect moment to present it to a potential audience at this specialized fair. Our goal is to find a partner interested in commercially developing and valorizing our hiking and cycling trails,” said Tena Peričić, Director of the Tourist Board of Novi Vinodolski.

“The fair in Stuttgart is one of the most important venues for promoting tourist destinations and has become a benchmark for trends in the tourism industry, especially for leisure, active holidays, and camping offers. This year we decided to showcase the Crikvenica-Vinodol Riviera with its rich outdoor offer and rented an independent stand in the section of the fair dedicated to cycling and hiking, located in Hall 9. Our offer attracted significant interest as we were one of the few exhibitors from Croatia, and there were numerous inquiries regarding active holidays. We rate our participation in the fair very positively, as we believe many visitors will choose to spend their vacation in our area already this year. There is a sense of optimism among German tourists, and we believe in achieving excellent tourism results from this very important market,” said Marijana Biondić, Director of the Tourist Board of Crikvenica.
