16th International Classical Music Festival “ART NOVI”
On Tuesday, 11 August 2026, as part of the 16th International Classical Music Festival Art Novi, a concert by guitarist Nikica Polegubić will take place at the Church of St. Philip and St. James in Novi Vinodolski.
Nikica Polegubić is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions from international competitions, including the award of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia for outstanding achievements in the field of art.
He has performed as a soloist and as part of chamber ensembles in many countries, including Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Poland, Turkey, England and India. He has won numerous competitions and awards, including Split Guitar Festival (Croatia, 2009), Enrico Mercatali in Italy (2009 as a guitar duo, 2010 as a soloist), Sea Guitar Festival in Slovenia (2010), Svirel Competition in Slovenia (2013 as a guitar trio), Guitar Art Festival (Serbia, 2014, 2016), Porečki tirando (Croatia, 2014), Andres Segovia (Germany, 2012, 2014), José Tomás Villa de Petrer International Guitar Festival (Spain, 2018), Ida Presti International Guitar Competition (Croatia, 2018), Forum Gitarre Wien 2022 in Austria (2nd prize), Festival de Guitare de Luxembourg 2022 in Luxembourg (3rd prize), Antwerpen Gitaarfestival 2022 in Belgium (1st prize), Oslo Guitar Days 2023 (2nd prize), Changsha International Guitar Competition 2023 in China (2nd prize), and the 12th LIGITA International Guitar Competition in Liechtenstein (3rd prize).
Nikica teaches at the Pavle Markovac Music School in Zagreb, regularly holds masterclasses, serves as a jury member at competitions, and performs frequently.
