Exhibition program of the Town Gallery Turnac – Ana Sladetić – “Scratching the Surface”
The June exhibition season at the Town Gallery Turnac continues with a solo exhibition by Ana Sladetić titled “Scratching the Surface”, featuring installations, ceramic objects, and multisensory works that connect archaeological forms with contemporary visual culture, ecology, and consumption. Through motifs of brands, packaging, scents, and tactile interventions, the artist explores how we today consume images, objects, and the very idea of sustainability.
Ana Sladetić’s works draw inspiration from artefacts from the Archaeological Museum, thereby linking the past and the present and adding a new dimension to the interpretation of archaeological objects.
Ana Sladetić graduated and obtained her PhD from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. She is the recipient of numerous international awards, and her work has been exhibited in more than 170 group and 20 solo exhibitions. Her artistic focus lies at the intersection of personal and collective memory, traditional forms, and contemporary technologies, creating works of strong visual appeal and deep conceptual foundation. She works as an associate professor at the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek.
The Turnac Gallery is open Monday to Saturday in two shifts, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Sundays, public holidays, and national holidays, the gallery is closed. Admission to all exhibitions is free.
