Tilia tasting room of local products – an authentic story from Krmpote that won the Simply the Best 2026 title

At the ceremonial presentation of the national award for creativity, innovation, and the development and enhancement of the tourism offer, “Simply the Best”, held on April 14, 2026, on the island of Cres, a special award arrived in Novi Vinodolski.
In the category Hospitality – tasting rooms of local food and beverages, the Tilia tasting room was first ranked among the top five in Croatia and was then further recognised as “Simply the best of the best”, rightfully earning this prestigious national annual award for creativity, innovation, and its contribution to the development and improvement of the destination’s tourism offer.
This award is not just a recognition of quality – it is a confirmation of an authentic story that comes from the heart of Krmpote. Today, Tilia proudly stands as one of the most distinctive places on Croatia’s eno-gastronomic map – a space where tradition, nature, and premium local products come together.
The story was created out of passion by two enthusiasts, Davor Tomičić and Antonio Komadina, who, through their work, vision, and dedication, built a unique space that represents a blend of tradition and a contemporary tourism experience.
Their approach is based on a simple yet powerful idea: to offer guests a sincere, authentic, and unforgettable experience. What makes Tilia special are its carefully designed tastings that go beyond the standard offer. Among them, a unique tasting of Kvarner honeys stands out, enriched with a premium selection of TERAVIS honeys, providing a true experience for all the senses.

The “Simply the Best” award has been presented for 16 years by the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (UHPA), the PUT business tourism exchange, and the tourism magazine Way to Croatia. It recognises excellence in improving the tourism offer and highlights best practices across Croatia, while the PUT exchange was held for the 26th time this year.
The title “Simply the best of the best” within its category represents an exceptional achievement and a strong confirmation of both quality and vision behind this story.
What makes this story even more powerful is the fact that it comes from the small village of Krmpote – but with a big vision. It is not just the success of one tasting room – it is the success of the entire region.
